Longlands

Longlands Christian Centre has been in the De Kock family for more than three generations. Built and established in 1905 this church has served many people, uplifting the community as a beacon of hope and goodwill.
Currently this centre is used as a platform from where many community projects are run such as craft workshops, soup kitchens and caring for the children from the impoverished community of what is left of a once fluent little town called Longlands.
Trevor and Stella Ford are the two Samaritans who endeavour to uplift this settlement through their work as counsellors and mentors. Trevor and Stella served in the Salvation Army for 15 years when they felt the Lord called them to go back to Delportshoop to present life skills programmes. They needed a premises in Longlands and that is when they met Kenne de Kock (snr), owner of the church and patriarch of the De Kock family. In 2015 Mr de Kock renovated the little church building at Longlands and today it is a well-maintained Christian Centre where Trevor and Stella serves the community.
Our Vision and Mission
